Ok, I've just gotten through learning Anime Studio Pro. It's like Toon Boom. I've been wanting to learn how to do character animation for a while and Motion is not the perfect solution. Cool thing with Anime Studio is the 'bone' structure so you can build and manipulate characters and design custom 'actions' to do common things.
Phenome Lip-Sync (exact mouth move matches) is done through an external program, either Magpie or Papagayo. Papagayo is free, but REALLY limited. But it basically makes a .dat file which consists of list of keyframe/frame positions and a corresponding 'switch-layer.' Makes it very easy to program lip moves quickly and send to Anime Studio Pro, or After Effects, Maya... etc.
My question is this : This concept of a switch layer is really powerful: Is there a way to do this in Motion?
FYI : A switch layer is like a group with a number of layers/drawings in it. Only one can be visible at a time. SO you can click on one and the others will all not be visible. Perfect for lip moves or expressions, hand positions, etc.
Motion seems to be limited to having to keyframe the opacity of EVERY other layer to do this.
